Where the Pine Island data center would go
Ryan Companies plans a campus of about 482 acres on farmland just north of Pine Island, Minn., bounded by Highway 52, 490th Street and 195th Avenue. Its first phase, on Lot 1, is a data center of about 300,000 square feet and a 30,000-square-foot office, according to the developer's planning narrative filed with the city. KSTP has described the project as Google-backed; a lawsuit over its environmental review has it on hold, KTTC reported on Sept. 29.
